What are the hours of operation?
Academic day – 8:30 am – 3:15 pm
Extended day – 3:30 pm – 6:00 pm

It is important to have your student at school on time, as it minimizes disruption to both the classroom and the student. Students not picked up by 3:30 pm are automatically directed to Extended Supervision.

What is the illness policy?
A student who is running a fever, is unusually tired, or shows even mild symptoms of a cold or other illness should be kept at home. Please notify the school office by 9:00 am if the student will be absent. Communicable diseases are required to be reported to the school administration for the health and safety of the entire student and faculty population.

Is there a lunch program?
The lunch program at Carden Academy is provided by Choice Lunch, a leading provider for schools in the Bay Area. You can select from a wide selection of delicious meals, make changes to an existing order, view or change details of your account, and browse through nutrition news and resources. To begin, register at www.choicelunch.com and enter our school code, Carden.

If your student forgets their lunch, a limited number of extra hot lunches will be available for purchase. Families will be billed by Choice Lunch.

What should be brought to the first day of school?

  • Lunch (if not pre-ordered), a snack, and a beverage. Milk-only is available for pre-order through www.choicelunch.com.
  • Sweatshirt or jacket. Your student should already be dressed in full uniform each day. Please clearly label all your student’s clothing, lunch boxes, school bags, and other personal items.
  • All basic supplies will be provided by Carden. The only personal items students need to bring include a backpack, a pencil case, and an earthquake kit. Earthquake kits should contain a bottle of water and non-perishable food your student enjoys (granola bars, dried fruit snacks, jerky, etc.) stored within a gallon sized Ziploc bag. The kit will be returned to you at the end of the school year.

When is the first tuition payment due?
The first of eleven tuition payments is due July 1. A late fee will be applied if your account is ten days past due. FACTS Management is Carden Academy’s tuition processing service provider.

What is the school’s uniform policy?
We require all students to wear a school uniform, unless it is a Free Dress or Special Dress day, which are scheduled and communicated by the administration. Uniforms can be purchased from Merry Mart, located at 33 Washington Street in Santa Clara, or through www.merrymartuniforms.com.

How does my student sign up for After School activities?
Carden Academy offers a wide variety of optional after-school enrichment classes and activities including athletics, language, art, and music enrichment. The cost and grade level availability varies for each activity. All classes take place on site at Carden Academy. Please refer to the After School Activities page for more details.
